This is how Transition Town Totnes, in England (where the founder lives), defines the purpose or intention of this group:
□ Energy descent - Consciousness Ascent!
□ Exploring the psychological, spiritual and consciousness aspects of transition

And here are several of the things that have considered to be within the scope and purpose:
• Mediation
• Non violent communication
• Celebration
• Human resources
• Facilitating Process
• Pyschology of change (and psychology of choice)
• Looking at power dynamics
• Psychological understanding – why is our society in this place? What goes on within individuals? What happens when we talk about planetary crisis? What happens when people engage (or not) around change?
• Skills and knowledge – communication, presentation of ideas; processes, structures, group dynamics, relationships, conflict resolution. Developing these skills in ourselves and in other parts of the TTT project.
• Balancing being and doing, thinking, feeling; integration, connections
• Reconnection to nature, community, self, other
• Exploring and expressing the painful feelings associated with being alive today – fear for the future, pain at the loss of habitats, species, the craziness of our system, the difficulty of a split reality
• Consciousness and shifts in consciousness, self awareness
• Nurture and support, self care in the process of transition, embodying our principles in our process
• Spirituality, celebration, ritual, creating community
• expressing pain despair panic numbness
• inspiration – vision holding out possibilities guidance wisdom, where we are going
• reconnecting with the earth, healing split relationships

I'd rather meet in someone's home. I have a small place, but the yard is huge. Daytime meetings could be here outdoors. I'll look for a copy of the book "Engaged Spiritual Life." I wouldn't want to go all the way to B.C. for a meeting. Rather meet at a pizza parlor than an "office."
